Vera Charline Wareham |
I have always been a
poet and an artist, although my means of support have only on
occasion included those talents. I have won prizes and been
published both as a writer and photographic artist in a wide
variety of media. In my position as Coordinator of
Communications with Motorola in Austin Texas, I was a primary
contributor to the monthly on-line newsletter called the Gotham
Gazette. I wrote articles, edited submissions, took photographs
and put together articles of all kinds concerning Motorola and
its employees. I also had a travel column covering local
day-trips in Central Texas, which included much of my landscape
photography. At present I am working on a book tentatively
called Patchwork Faces of the Moon. I am web master of
four sites. The first and very massive site created in 2000 is
called Through My Window, a creative outlet, where I
still display much of my work. I have also featured many
talented writers and artists on my guest pages at that site.
I have enjoyed
working on the Skyline magazines more than I can express. It is
not easy; in fact sometimes it is quite a challenge, but the
rewards are priceless. This poetry contest was the toughest so
far, but reading all of these talented poets' work was a prize
in itself. Thank you for the opportunity to share the wealth,
and congratulations to all of our winners.

Phaedra
Valentine |
I enjoy helping out
with Skyline. I think it's a wonderful magazine, and it feels
good to be involved with writers and artists. I have always
been interested in the arts, being a dancer on stage for 8 years,
also with an interest in painting and sculpting. I've recently
received my Associates Degree and am currently a
cosmetology/aesthetics student. After finishing my training, I
plan on working for a few years to gain experience, and then opening
a full service salon/spa. Helping to judge this poetry contest
was challenging but so much fun. I like reading poetry and
found a lot of wonderfully written poems in the contest.
Judging was not easy. |

Victoria
Valentine |
Those of you who know
Skyline Magazine and Hudson View Poetry Digest, know me...Victoria.
For our new members, I am a writer who has been published in the USA
and Abroad. I've published a book of short stories, At The
Stroke Of Midnight: 24 Tales of Terror, and I've also written lyrics
for the CD, Eyes Of Ash, performed by the NY alternative rock band,
The Unintended. I publish Skyline Magazine, A Hudson View,
SpinningS...intense tales of life magazine, Haiku Haven, Poet
Express and Roses-and-Rainbows. I do this as a passion.
As a "day job" I work for a medical messaging company, providing
customer service to doctors and hospitals, patients and insurance
companies. I love what I do, and fortunately, can do what I
love! Speaking of love...the photo above is of my clowning,
youngest daughter, Phaedra, my rainbow in the sky. Phae is my
energetic co pilot, who helps me immensely with Skyline Magazine.
At this time, I would like to thank
Vera Charline Wareham, our associate editor who keeps my head in
place & is always here for me. And thank you to Eric Tessier,
our associate editor, who reads, contributes, and supports me every
step of the way. A HUGE thank you to our Judges, who had a
difficult task and did a fine job.
The majority of our
contest prize money has been contributed by two Skyline angels. I
would be screaming their names out with a tremendous THANK YOU, however, they wish
to remain anonymous. Congratulations to our Winners! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE !!
